Dear Member Credit Union,
Over the past two months, the staffs at both Kentucky Corporate Federal Credit Union (Kentucky Corporate) and Volunteer Corporate Credit Union (VolCorp) have been heavily engaged in preparing the merger application for submittal to the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions (TDFI) and the NCUA. The merger application represents a comprehensive collection of both regulatory requirements and project plans necessary to invoke and complete the merger. We are happy to report the merger application was officially submitted to the TDFI and NCUA today.

Because VolCorp is a state-chartered corporate credit union in the state of Tennessee, the merger application must receive approval from the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions (TDFI) prior to formal submission of the application to the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). However, in order to ensure both regulatory agencies are aware of the merger plans, and to assist in expediting the review and approval process, a copy of the merger application has been submitted to the TDFI and NCUA simultaneously.

Obtaining the TDFI and NCUA’s approval for the merger is one of the requirements VolCorp and Kentucky Corporate FCU must obtain before the merger can be completed. The other is obtaining approval from the membership of both corporates. Additional information regarding the member vote will be communicated over the next couple of months.

Depending on regulatory approval, the merger should be finalized by the 2nd quarter of 2014.

Our Board of Directors and staff are committed to keeping you informed as we perform the necessary steps to bring this merger to completion. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Marsha Hahn at 502-855-8214 or mhahn@kycorp.org.

Thank you for your support,
The Board of Directors of Kentucky Corporate Federal Credit Union
